MARINE BABY SHOWER

We are hosting the Marine Baby Shower on campus at San Clemente Pres on Saturday, September 6th for enlisted families of the 1st CEB at Camp Pendleton and we need your help to make it happen!

Ways to get involved:

Volunteer.

There are two ways to volunteer your time:

  • Baby Bundle Party: Wednesday, Sept 3rd 10am-12pm. We will stuff baby bundles, prep for shower games, organize prizes, etc. We need 10 volunteers to help out. There will be coffee, donuts and fun!To sign up, email Kris at kkorkunis@gmail.com.

  • Volunteer at the Shower: Saturday, Sept 6th between 9am and 3pm. There are several time slots and roles needed to put on this event. Please email Kris which time and role you’d like to volunteer with from the list below:

    • Shower Set up - 9-10:30am. We need 8 volunteers to set up games, microphones and screens as well as pick up balloons, display gifts and prizes, decorate tables, create a photobooth, etc. NO heavy lifting. The room will be pre-set.

    • Parking "Guides" - 10:30-11:30am - We need 1-2 folks to make sure there is parking in the north lot for the shower attendees. We will have signage saying "reserved for Private Event".

    • Guest Registration - 10:30-11:30am - We need 2 folks to register and welcome Shower guests and families. 

    • Shower Hosts - 10:30am-2:00pm - We need 7 folks to welcome and care for guests as well as assist with food, games, "shopping" tables, and prize/gift distribution. 

    • Food set up and serving - 11am-2:00pm - We need 4 people to pick up lunch from Board and Brew, arrange food and drinks, manage the buffet, and serve cake after lunch. 

    • Photographers - 11:00am-2:00pm - We need 1-2 people who are good with smartphone photography to take candid pics at the shower. A host can do this too!

    • Sibling Child Care - 11:00am-2:00pm - (usually 2-4 kids ages 3-7. You will be in Fellowship Hall with the parents. Arts and crafts are a good option) We need 1-2 people for this. 

    • Clean up - 1:30-2:30pm - We need 4 people to strip round tables and put tablecloths in bags, pack up reusable decorations and games in bins, tidy the room, put leftover food in the kitchen fridge (or take it home!!) and put trash in bins. NO heavy lifting or breaking down tables.

Donations!

There are two lists of donations we are asking for to gift to the families at the baby shower. This first list we can use in any amount. Just drop off in the Church Office or bring to the patio on Sunday between services:

  • Amazon, Walmart or Target Gift Cards in any amount to put toward shower gifts. Every $ helps!!!!!

  • Diapers, size newborn through 6 months only please

  • Baby wipes

  • Baby monitors, diaper genies, white noise (sleep) machines, 8 toddler-safe stuffed animals, changing pads, diaper bags, Boppies

  • New Baby clothes with tags on. (you can remove price) 3mos-6mos preferred. More boys or gender neutral. (NO onesies, layettes, or sleepers, please!!  We already have enough)

We are also looking for specific quantities of the items listed below. If you would like to donate one (or more) of these items, please email Kris which you plan to give so we can be sure to have the correct quantities of each:

  • 2 - Graco Pack n Play Care Suite Bassinet Playards ($140-160)

  • 1 - Infant Car Seat ($210-400)

  • 7 - Aquaphor Baby Diaper Rash Cream 3.5 oz 3pack. ($18.40 on Amazon)

  • 20 - Cetaphil Baby Shampoo and Wash. $4.15 on Amazon

  • 20 - Infant Board Books, prices vary

  • 20 – Infant Crinkle Books, prices vary

  • 20 - Teethers, prices vary
